Inefficient BOSE customer service - regret the purchase; OUTSTANDING customer service Revain

We have used Bose radios for years to play a soothing CD as an alarm clock. This is the third Bose radio we have (the first one died and Bose won't fix it because it's "too old"). With the new unit, we noticed that there was a sharp beep at the end of CD playback. That wasn't the case with the first two Bose devices, and we don't want an alarm to sound either. Bose customer service informed us that this is a defect, that the alarm should not sound at the end of CD playback. We were asked to send it in for repair. It took quite a long time. When they returned it, it still sounded the alarm at the end of the CD. Our second round with Bose customer service initially confirmed that the alarm was NOT supposed to sound. We were also informed that the first CS representative had mistakenly recorded a defect that should have been fixed. So the shipping and repair was a waste of time - and WORSE, it resulted in us delaying returning the unit through Revain, missing AMAZON's 30 day return policy. After our second long phone call with another CS rep who confirmed TWICE that the alarm should NOT sound, they changed their story and called it a new FEATURE. If we had known about this (and we're not sure if that's true, and we only have one broken unit), we wouldn't have bought the [[ASIN:B011IH6TYE Bose Wave Radio IV - Platinum Silver] radio. We asked for our money back and they refused. To be honest, the sound is good. This is what Bose is historically known for. If you're looking to buy any of these devices, test them out in a real store first, and if you buy them, buy them from a brick-and-mortar store where you'll get real customer service. Bose customer service is a joke and you're wasting your time on the phone with nice but totally inefficient operators in another country who don't know the product and can't solve your problems. HOWEVER - Revane is amazing! After reading the reason for the delay in seeking a refund, we issued a refund WITHIN 1 HOUR! . Great company and great customer service.
