I searched on Walmart a long time before I chose this string of lights because most descriptions - including this one, I believe - do not think it important enough to mention whether the string itself is copper or white or silver or what. I am pleased to report that this string is a silver/white with bright white lights. That is just what I wanted so it would be less visible on a white background. (The copper strings that are available would really have stood out and ruined the design effect.) I don't know if I am missing something, but my string of lights does not have an on/off switch or a remote control. That is disappointing since it means I have to unplug the lights every time I want to shut them them, which is not terribly convenient when the outlet is out of easy reach. I also don't have a timer with mine, in case there was supposed to be one. The brightness of the lights is very good, by the way.
