Review on Sabrent Premium 3-Port Aluminum Mini USB 3.0 Hub - 90°/180° Rotatable Design (HB-R3MC): Compact Efficiency for Seamless Connectivity by Ryan Whatley

Need a small USB hub to make a few extra connections (like most). that seemed to fit the bill. nothing special, and heck if it died it wouldn't be out of pocket (which is why I bought 2). Received it well packaged today, the swivel joint was fine. I hooked it up to a laptop and flipped it from one direction to the other with no problem. Dead! My laptop immediately turned off and the battery indicator didn't even show that the system had power. I managed to ruin a $600 laptop because I wanted to save a few bucks for a USB hub. Of course I will contact the manufacturer, but let's be honest. I'm pretty SOL and of course they will say there are many underlying issues that can cause this issue, blah blah blah blah. I absolutely cannot recommend this product to anyone and would urge anyone thinking of purchasing this product to look elsewhere.
