I've had other solar motion sensor lights in the past, and they worked just fine. So far, these have been terrific. They are the right level of brightness. They face downward to light the path or general area. They respond to motion from a pretty good distance, and they stay on for a good number of hours in between the sun charging them again, depending which of the 3 motion options you select. That is a big plus!They are easy to assemble and install with the stakes and hardware provided. They feel pretty solid without taking up much space.I placed one near our trash and green cans because raccoons do enjoy trying to get in even though they are secured. The lights switching to the brighter mode when motion occurs has helped deter them. The others are placed near walking areas and they work beautifully, turning on as I approach and turning off 25 seconds after I am away from the area (that's the setting I chose).If there are any updates, I will update here, but these have been really nice to add to our home.
