Review on πŸͺ’ High-Quality Carbon Steel Straight Edge Shaving Razor for Men with 3” Blade - Black and White Checked Handle by Megan Knoll

Absolutely delighted with the shaver!

With all the reviews you hear good and bad. I had straight razors made in China and they were actually heavy pocket knives. Most reviews said stay away from Chinese razors. However, one of them said that the gold dollar could be polished and used. At such a cheap price ($12.00), I decided to try one out to find out for myself. I ordered one and it arrived very quickly. Looks nice. A little on the heavy side. I would hardly shave the hair on my arms out of the box. It was a real razor so I sharpened it on a few different grit stones and then polished it well. All in all it took maybe an hour. I was just playing around, tried the hanging hair test and wow. He cut his hair into many pieces, straight as a button. I was impressed. Then came the shaving test. Nice shaved. It's supposed to be stainless steel and while it looks like it I can't tell for sure if it is, but it seems to hold the blade longer than my other razors. I'm impressed. Some experts may have different opinions on this than I do, but I'm not an expert. I own several razors including Dovo and BΓΆkers to give me a basis for comparison. I recommend if you're starting out with razor shaving and want an impressive name, go for something like Dovo, but if you just want to see if you like it, try Gold Dollar. You don't lose $150 and you have a great razor for little money. Another option I highly recommend for beginners is to try a shavette. It is with interchangeable blades. Much luck.
