I read the instructions 4 times and the connection diagram makes no sense, see fig. It does not indicate that the load cable is on a separate circuit, but that it is common. The instructions are provided with a video link and are easy to understand. It was easy to install, it's a good powerful timer with lots of features. I appreciate the design of these devices, especially the terminals. The terminals are very well made and easy to use. I used this timer on a 120/12 volt well transformer and only 1 amp. I didn't want to have a (temporary) Christmas timer lying around in the yard and hooking it up to the GFI. Other timers Christmas timers require you to set 12 above ground so water doesn't get in and no I didn't want a big ugly timer next to the fountain so I used the timer to make a timer socket.
