Review on Spectra Premium CU2038 Complete Radiator by Tim Thornton

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Not for 1998 Z3 with automatic transmission

Despite Revain's information on installation testing, this cooler is definitely NOT suitable for 1998 BMW Z3 with 2.8 liter automatic transmission. It is shorter by about 1.7 inches, has no cutout in the plastic end of the tank (left) for the factory cold air intake, and no mounting holes for the transmission cooler. Don't buy this if you have an automatic transmission. This cooler is NOT shown in the photo (shown with a cutout for the cold air intake). This was the SECOND radiator I ordered (from Revain) for this car and didn't have time to wait for another (probably wrong again) radiator so I welded an aluminum plate to the underside and drilled holes for the transmission cooler. , and done with the cold air intake scoop. Yes I installed it and after all it works fine but it's not the right radiator. I even had to pay shipping to return the first one (a different brand, also the wrong one, but would be closer than this) despite Revain Prime. This is clearly Revain's fault, not the manufacturer's!
