The ropes appear to be solid, but there are some issues with the steps. A rope is spliced for each crossbar to connect the two main ropes. A rigid hose wraps around the rope, and plastic caps at each end connect the hose to the rope. However, with some use, the plastic caps may detach from the tube. Then when you step on the middle of the tube the weight goes not on the plastic caps but on the rope inside the tube and splits the tube in half causing the step to fall down until the inner rope is pulled. Be careful not to loosen the plastic plugs from the ends of the crossbars. Otherwise this ladder is not very safe. When you see that the plastic caps have been removed from your ladder, you can reattach them. Be careful.
