Review on Expert Connect HDMI Audio Extractor, 4K/2K, HDMI 1.4, Coaxial/Optical (SPDIF/Toslink)/3.5mm Stereo Jack - Splitter for HDMI Video + Digital/Analog Audio Outputs by Lamont Wilson

The device can play video up to 4k (claims I only tested up to 1920x1200) and it can play 7.1ch audio BUT not 1920 x 1200 (native resolution of my monitor) and 5.1 channel audio at the same time. DIP switch settings only allow 1080p along with 5.1 channel audio. That strikes me as very strange. Maybe I'm an idiot, but I don't exactly see this limitation from the description above. I will say that the picture remains crisp and clear, the sound through the optical output is clear. Everything worked fine, just not at the same time. For those who use the more popular monitor resolution, don't hesitate to order this device. Sending it back and looking for another device that fits my needs.
