As either nobody noticed or mentioned it, there is NO leather in this fly swatter. The word "leather" appears several times in the text and images accompanying this product, but what I have just received is made from foam backed vinyl. Very often in products from China (like this one) the word "leather" is used to describe a material that is entirely synthetic and maybe even vegan, with a leather-like texture and appearance. FYI, at the same time I bought another fly swatter in a similar Amish style that is clearly made out of animal skin. That's not to say that one is better than the other, but I just want to point out that some "leather" fly swatters contain real leather. Other than that, this is a great product. The vinyl/foam fly swatter consists of two layers and feels pleasantly heavy. To be honest, with good care, it will last as well or even better than real leather. Colored vinyl also leaves less marks on walls than colored leather, something I've mentioned in reviews of other fly swatters but can't comment on that. The handle appears to be steel (rigid and magnetic), perhaps galvanized but unpainted, thicker than the fly swatters of yore that many associate with maternal punishment (not mine, of course, my mother was a saint like me). Most of time). I don't know if thicker wire hurts more or less, and don't indulge in such things. Luckily for this review I had a fly in my house when this item arrived. One hit and I'm very happy with the result. The fly swatter has been pleasant to use so far. I will note, however, in case anyone is interested, that the batted fly was fairly firmly attached to the fly swatter upon impact. A light lube can help, but I don't care. A great product so far. I look forward to using it. However, I rushed to the computer to make it clear to potential buyers that "leather" is just a word and is used incorrectly and incorrectly here. 5 stars for the product, minus 2 for outright lying or not knowing what "skin" means in English. Don't hit your kids with it.
