Review on Transcend 4 GB Class 6 SDHC Flash Memory Card - Best Performance and Storage for Digital Devices: TS4GSDHC6 by Brian Edwards

Revainrating 1 out of 5

8GB is good for PowerShot cameras, 16GB is limited

Apparently Revain doesn't allow separate ratings for 8GB and 16GB cards, so this is a combined rating for both cards. I first bought these cards for my Canon PowerShot SX10 and am now using them in my SX40. . They have always worked reliably for me and have never let me down. The only card errors I saw were related to camera issues, not a card error. I regularly reformat them after transferring pictures to a backup computer, which can happen every few weeks or months. Neither card works in my mother's digital camera (I don't know which model but it's a few years old) which I think is because that camera can't handle SDHC cards and needs SD cards instead, so check what you need for your camera before purchasing. 16GB card - some file transfer issues: While it would be great to have more storage with this card, it didn't work for me. A 16GB card will not work properly to transfer images directly from the camera to a computer via a USB cable. It works as long as the card is less than half full, but when more than half of its capacity is used, the camera can no longer communicate with the computer to transfer images. The workaround for this problem is to fill it half or less before reformatting or use a card reader to transfer files. I'm guessing it's more of a communication issue between the camera and the computer and less of a card issue, but this bug has become annoying. 8GB card - no problem: whatever could cause file transfer problems. with a 16 GB card when it is more than half full, an 8 GB card does not have this problem. I filled it to capacity a couple of times and all the images transferred with no issues. So for my purposes, this card is the best choice and more convenient to use.

Cons
