A piece of silicone slipping off your lip? Try this

4 month update: My solution was still working when someone at work decided I didn't need the thermos anymore and happily stole it from me. I think they saw how much I liked it and decided it was easier to steal than buy it yourself. So I came back to buy another one. I'm going to use the same o-ring attachment I described earlier to hold the silicone piece in place. Seriously, try it if you have such problem. Works well. Original Review/Correction When I bought this thermos, I read a lot of reviews about people having problems with the lid. Where the silicone part is loose and the lid won't open when the button is pressed. I've read that a lot of people bought new caps from the manufacturer because a piece of silicone couldn't be bought individually. Well I'm not sure if the silicone part just came loose over time but the problem with mine was that shortly after purchase this silicone part started slipping off the lip on the lid. So I tried to find a way to prevent this and here is what I came up with. Go to Lowe's and buy a faucet repair triangle with o-rings. I've attached a picture with the model number. It has 4 o-rings, they are the same diameter but 2 are thicker. So I removed the white silicone lid and slipped two thicker o-rings over the rounded area and pressed down to keep the lid opening silicone from slipping off the rim. I then placed one of the smaller o-rings on top of the other two to keep them from moving up. Photos are included to show you what I did. I've been using it for about a week and so far so good. Well, if the piece of silicone that opens the lid gets too loose it will eventually stop opening the lid, but my solution is to keep it from sliding on the lip. Hope this helps someone else.
