Review on Taste Wild Protein Appalachian Valley by Marcos Woody

Usually in Acana and Orijen, but. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I have been feeding my dogs Acana and Orijen for many years with good results. However, one of my dogs developed digestive problems this summer. After several visits to the vet, the lab, and some medication, the vet suggested the problem was food related. I'm through packages fast (4lbs), I have two other dogs that eat the same food and I threw away all the food twice (as a precaution) so I didn't think it was likely. The working theory was that the heat in which the food was stored/transported (before it got into the house) made it unsuitable for my dog. That sounded plausible enough, so I switched back to Taste of the Wild. My two 6 lb Japanese Chins and a Tibetan Spaniel absolutely LIVE this meal. Chins, with their tiny teeth, tend to take food a little more slowly. The pieces in this food are very small and break up well for them, but don't crumble or create too much dust in the container. Remarkably, this food is not as greasy as other brands I have used. I have no idea if my bitch was affected, but she is coping well with diet changes. One final note: my dogs love the food. It does not have a pungent odor when stored or served. I don't know if this is necessarily a problem, but dogs fed this food have normal, well-formed, relatively odorless stools. I highly recommend ToTW and will probably switch to it exclusively.
