IDEA is the second company I have purchased the gear indicator from for my 2005 Ninja zx636. The first company sent me the wrong connector and when I used the diagnostic cap that was already on my bike it said L for Learn and F for Fail. It was defective so I sent it back. I didn't want to spend $150 on Healtech, so I chose IDEA. The very fast delivery is positive. I wanted to install it today and they also sent the wrong connector as you can see in the photos. So I had to unplug the pins again and plug them into the diagnostic cap on my bike. I temporarily secured it to my triple clamp with a zip tie and went around the block to see if it worked. IT WORKS OUT! As many have said there is a delay of about 1 second after the clutch is released before the next gear is displayed but it works and I can live with that! Cons: Now I understand they only ship it with a universal connector which most likely won't fit your bike, so you'll need to change the connector from their connector to the diagnostic cap on your bike's stock connector. * 1 second delay for gear indicator after disengagement. *NEUTRAL is displayed as 0 as opposed to N. PROS: *Fast delivery at fair prices *Good cable length for install route *BIGGEST PRO here, I think there is no training/programming here like other similar gear indicator companies. It's REALLY easy to plug in and it reads right away. I think this company is probably the best choice. Definitely better than other similarly priced competitors, better packaged and significantly cheaper than the healthtech brands. I recommend. I will give updates if I keep using it. I'll be installing a Healtech quickshifter next week so I'll post on how it handles clutchless shifting.
