Easy to install. literally plug and play for my 2013 Kawasaki Ninja 1000. Got it and done! In the neutral state it reads 0, which makes sense to me. The only thing, but not the main thing, is that there's a split-second delay between changing gears and getting the read, and it seems like you have to let go of the clutch all the way to get the read. I also went for the red screen and it looks like it's a little less visible in the sun. All in all a great product for the price!

As mentioned, it fits perfectly as a plug n play accessory for my 2013 Ninja 300. I had to remove some of the plastic to clear the wires to misplace, but once installed everything worked great. Of course, there is a lag in upshifts and downshifts. Basically, you have to shift gears and then release the clutch. Then he will show what mechanism you are in at the moment. Overall I'm very pleased that it's so easy to install and works great for letting you know where you are.

As another reviewer noted, this indicator only shows gear changes after the clutch has been released. So if you pull the clutch and downshift when you stop at a stop sign, the gauge will still show the gear you were in before you pulled the clutch. So it's quite possible (and often) for the turn signal to show you're in third gear when you're actually in first gear at the stop sign.

Installed on a 2015 Kawasaki Z1000. Installation was easy. It took less than 30 minutes to run the wire and 2 seconds to connect. It already had a connector on the wires so I had to remove it with wire strippers to make routing the wires easier. I love this indicator for my Ninja 300! I bought "Rectangle" + "Green" options. Yes, there is a small delay before the digit is updated and it doesn't update while the clutch is held, but that's not when I need to check. And it works great with clutchless up/downshifts. This is a great addition to Vulcans without a pilot light. Kawasaki has reserved a few accessory ports on the bike (I think 4). The one I used is under the seat. On European models, the limit is here, so you should probably put it here as well. I installed it on the left side of the wheelbarrow body and attached the tape to the right side of the indicator. IDEA is the second company I have purchased the gear indicator from for my 2005 Ninja zx636. The first company sent me the wrong connector and when I used the diagnostic cap that was already on my bike it said L for Learn and F for Fail. It was defective so I sent it back. I didn't want to spend $150 on Healtech, so I chose IDEA. The very fast delivery is positive. I wanted to install it today and they also sent the wrong connector as you can see in the photos.
