Review on 🏍️ Idea Waterproof Motorcycle Gear Indicator Plug & Play LED Display for Kawasaki (Rectangle, Green): Enhance Your Riding Experience with Accurate Gear Monitoring! by Nick Morales

It's easy to install, bright and affordable

This is a great addition to Vulcans without a pilot light. Kawasaki has reserved a few accessory ports on the bike (I think 4). The one I used is under the seat. On European models, the limit is here, so you should probably put it here as well. I installed it on the left side of the wheelbarrow body and attached the tape to the right side of the indicator. I routed the wire along the bottom of the gas tank where the other wires were and back to the connector under the seat. I didn't have to remove anything to install it except the seat to access the connector. I was surprised at how bright it is - very easy to read during the day. It reads the bike's ECU, so there's a slight delay before it shifts into your current gear. This will happen after you start releasing the clutch. If you downshift multiple gears while holding the clutch until you stop, it will display the gear you were in when you started downshifting, not 1st gear. When you release the clutch to move, it reads 1. Neutral displays 0. Considering the ease of installation and the selling price, I would definitely recommend buying them. Most of the time I know what gear I'm in, but sometimes I lose track so it's handy. Sometimes I also start in 2nd gear. On the Vulcan, if you stop in 1st gear you can't shift to 2nd, you can only shift to neutral, so when downshifting and stopping I have to stop in 2nd. Then this indicator will come in handy. Would buy again.
