Not as good as I had hoped.
As another reviewer noted, this indicator only shows gear changes after the clutch has been released. So if you pull the clutch and downshift when you stop at a stop sign, the gauge will still show the gear you were in before you pulled the clutch. So it's quite possible (and often) for the turn signal to show you're in third gear when you're actually in first gear at the stop sign.
