This is a very well made shoe for those who need maximum support. It also has the roomiest sock you will ever find. This would be especially helpful for people with crossed toes or swelling. The insole is removable and offers enough space for individual orthopedic insoles. The insole is one of the best I've seen in terms of softness and cushioning. The shoes are extremely stable and designed for walking, not running. For me the toe box was too roomy - even with the heel extended - the orthopedic Rx inside. The width is also spacious in the heel area, but medium in the midfoot area. The shoes are true to size. I had to return the shoes due to the fit and recently found that max stability shoes are not the best option for me given my Rx orthotics. For those who have the aforementioned needs or conditions, this shoe could be perfect.
