What I like best about this phone holder is that it's all metal and has a machined shoe mount at the top. This mount allowed me to connect an external microphone, which took my sound recording to the next level. What I don't like, and it may be minor but it comes down to an issue with the material composition, is that the very cold shoe that I admire so much is not milled properly so your cold shoe isn't fully seated in the holder sits. but stands out because the CNC machining has rounded the seat and is not at a 90 degree angle. Therefore, anything you put in the mount is never 100% in place. Minor flaws, but they can be fixed in the production phase. Another thing to keep in mind is when it comes to oversized phones and cases. If you have a big phone like the Note 9 with a big hard case. it won't fit. There was no mine until I removed the cover. Perhaps Ulanzi should consider an oversized unit or modification. Otherwise I am satisfied and look forward to further products in the future.
