One of the best offers, glad I bought it.

In daily active use 2 years 8 months (today). I bought it in Amazon (not advertising) during the discount season for 59999R. Since then, contrary to the logic of the market, it has risen in price. All the beauty of the MacBook will be appreciated only by users who are fans of the iPhone and other Apple gadgets. For them, as for me, the transition from Windows will not only be fun, but it will also make learning macOS easier. I forgot like a bad dream: freezes, system reinstallations, viruses, uncertainty that the operating system will not close without the ability to recover data, etc. We arrived as a bonus: an ecosystem (I will not list all the functionality and conveniences from synchronization), one of the most important pluses is protection from viruses (unless you foolishly install it yourself), hence the relative confidence in the security of personal data, service (I contacted the support line more than once, even after the warranty period and difficulties were always (free) resolved), systematic ates, aesthetic buzz: simplicity , quality, speed of the system and applications, the quality factor of both the assembly and the materials themselves, the weight and compactness of the laptop, the proprietary Trackpad with its gestures, MagSafe, the glowing apple πŸ‘¨β€πŸ’» and the design in general. The battery today with moderate work holds ~ 9 hours (at the time of purchase ~ 11 hours). The screen, for its type, is of decent quality. Someone here wrote about the inability to connect a Mac to a TV. This is true if you have a Birch box, etc. Modern ones, as a rule, have an HDMI output. I connect an external display to my MacBook Air via Thunderbolt with no problem. Yes, there are other ways. Unlike the latest MacBook models, there are a variety of slots and even a separate one for SD cards (photographers will appreciate). Vent (in my case) turns on mainly when editing videos in iMovie. The MacBook Air itself is not cheap and I'm not a major, I had to save up, but it's worth it. I look at more modern Macs (with their problems: keyboards, anti-glare coating, batteries, slots) and hesitate to part with my Air.

Pros
  • The operating system, although not in everything, but the pluses more than cover the minuses. Support. Build quality and materials. Weight. Battery life. Sufficient performance for its segment (video editing in iMovie with a bang). Reliability proven over the years (in my case) looks and functions almost out of the box. Apple ecosystem. Liquidity
Cons
  • Thick bezels around the display. Large (relatively) key travel and backlighting (at minimum brightness it is already quite bright). Big difference in price between 128 and 256 GB models. Display resolution (when compared to Retina). The absence of some interesting programs (Windows) in the AppStore (treated with crutches).
