Review on Lorell Millenia Multi Task Stool in Blue: Versatile and Comfortable by Jacob Thorson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very good quality, best home bar furniture

Disclaimer: I've been repairing typewriters for 10 years so I'm pretty well versed in mechanical devices. I am very pleasantly surprised by the quality of this chair. It's made in Taiwan, which I think is head and shoulders above what's made in mainland China. Instructions are sketchy (pictures only) but this really is a breeze - no tools required. I love that the bottom and back are covered with a shell and there are no unsightly buttoned upholstery. The steel chair and backrests feel very solid and well made. The plastic edge isn't that strong, but it looks good enough. I decided to keep it but it is for my workshop and can prevent dust from entering the cylinder mount system. The base is plastic, but it appears to be a good quality plastic. I wasn't sure how good the footrest would be. Some images show a welded tubular frame while others look like molded plastic. I was happy to discover that it is indeed cast metal and should be strong. It is only attached to the ring with rivets, but if they fail once they can be easily replaced with a bolt or screw. I was also concerned that the set screw would press against the rack and damage it or not be enough to hold it in place. To my surprise, there are two thick semi-circular steel plates that press down on either side of the column and hold it very tight. The cushions are thick and comfortable, and the backrest is adjustable vertically and horizontally. I find it more comfortable than any of my other office chairs. The upholstery looks very durable, even more so than vinyl. It can pick up sawdust, but a vacuum should clean it enough for a workshop stool. Minimum height is 24 inches minus a slight pad compression. rolls too easily down my sometimes crooked workshop floor. I ordered nylon guides to replace the rollers, which also reduces the height. You don't want it rolling when you're working on electrical equipment. I got this basically to take some stress off a foot injury and it should serve that purpose well.
