Review on πŸ–¨οΈ IOGEAR GUB231 Black: High-performance 2-Port USB 2.0 Automatic Printer Switch by Randy Salgado

Revainrating 1 out of 5

THIS WILL NOT WORK WITH WINDIWS 10.

What could be easier than changing a printer? It would take a lot of skill to ruin everything. But they succeeded. It can be operated manually by pressing a button to switch the printer from one computer to another. But it doesn't work. When the button is pressed, a beep sounds and the display showing which computer is connected does not change. I wanted automatic switching and the manual told me that's how it would work if I installed the software. Just a small problem. The program was written for Windows XP and Vista. It got installed and at first it looked like it would work. But that's not the case. The status must be changed from each computer by clicking the application tray icon and selecting it from the menu. I figured I had it set up to automatically disconnect from one computer and switch to another when there's a print job on it, so I went to bed happy. The next morning I wasn't happy to find that the control program didn't work on any of the computers. I started it manually and got the familiar question "Do you allow this program to make changes to your computer?" So I uninstalled the program and threw the hardware in the trash. It's not worth the effort. Do not buy this item. It's a piece of junk.

Pros
