No clutch, it's the hook they hang on. I did not notice any smell removal which I hung in the hallway closet along with my coat and shoes and it still smells in the closet. I bought more for my car to see if it would help with fogged windows and we just had rain so I can see if they work with them. But as far as smells go, I can't say I didn't notice anything. The first time I used them the bag didn't say to leave it in the sun so I'll try that next time and see. If it works I will change my rating stars.
