Review on Upgrade Your Toilet with the American Standard Trip Lever Assembly, Made from Durable Plastic by Russell Smith

Revainrating 1 out of 5

The "American Standard " toilet uses low quality custom parts - a way to represent America

This product is very expensive for what it is: some cheap molded plastic parts. But it was the only tank handle I could find with that crazy square lever that fits my standard American toilet. The plastic nut that keeps the handle flush with the toilet wall loosens every few months and I'm pretty tired of fumbling around in the cistern to fix it. The nut is finally stripped and it's time to get a replacement again. This pen only lasted two years. I also had to replace the flush valve and flapper at the same time; none of them were compatible with a standard Home Depot part. Next time I'll pay a little more upfront and buy a toilet that's easier to fix (and probably doesn't break as often)!
