I have tried several cages and this one is almost perfect for me. My goal was to protect the camera and attach a limited number of accessories without turning my small and light DSLR camcorder into a "Frankencell" monster. The right side has the trigger and it's comfortable for my hand. There are well-placed 1/4" holes that fit the small 3082 grip that holds the Sony K3 audio adapter. The kit also includes a small screw that goes through the top right hole of the camera strap and attaches to the cage. Keep the camera securely attached by creating a second point of contact. I've tried the original small rig cage (ok, but not great), the semi-small rig cage (ok, but no second point of contact, so it moved too much), and the 8siin cage (prettier than the small rig, but a little awkward for the arms and the holes on the top don't match the 3082 Small Rig Handle. This new small rig cage is my current favorite and I plan on using it. IMPROVEMENTS - If SmallRig wanted to make this cage more consistent I would do the following: 1. Rotate the bottom into a Swiss ARCA mount as on the Small Rig cage half. This is perfect for those of us who shoot with this system and no problem for those who don't did it to make it lighter, but for me it's a missed opportunity as I want to install a NATO grip that leaves the HDMI area free to pinch. Overall a great cage for my purposes and I'm nice singing waiting to be used.
