Review on πŸ”Œ Boost Efficiency with Aplstar Resistant Vintage Standard Sockets by Mark Bearden

They are ok, could be better.

Plastic outdoor socket and all screw together parts feel solid and well made. Everything fits together well. I also like that the threads on the back of the spigot are standard 1/8" pipe threads, so the hollow threaded rods that usually come with fixings screw in perfectly, giving you really a lot of mounting options aside from hanging on wires . What I don't like is that the metal bushing in the plastic base is very loose and nothing can be done to tighten it. won't be a problem. If you attach it to a lamp or like I was hoping to use it on a custom ceiling fan kit I've built, you won't like it because the lamp always feels loose/wobbly. good 1/8 inch play in all directions to allow the bulb to wobble even when screwed in tight. This did not help with my ceiling fan with a slight vibration of the fan. I thought of adding a few drops of glue but was concerned about the heat. All in all, if you just want to hang them from wires, they're quite a bargain, you can get a lot of them for little money. but other than that they are well made. But they didn't meet my requirements.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
