I've edited my review to reflect this. As a national level wire jewelry instructor, I buy a lot of wire, miles actually, every year. I didn't have enough before the big practice show so I ordered a 1lb spool of 16 gauge wire to bide my time. The package arrived lightly so I weighed it before using it. It weighed 15.1 ounces including the reel it was on. I understand most manufacturers have tolerances, but usually they don't include the spool in the weight of the wire. I would not recommend this provider to any of my students. - Maria R
