This went down well with my 3 year old niece who, like most children familiar with Toy Story, is very fond of Woody. Knowing what time it was was appealing and approachable as she could apply the study of numbers to understanding which number meant bedtime or when it was too early to wake her mother. The next thing I sent a few months later was Maisie. Mouse is a book about reading the hands of a clock. And for Christmas I just sent her a Hello Miss Kitty alarm clock. Therefore, even though she is learning different methods of telling time, she likes to wear this watch from time to time. Can't tell how strong it will be with frequent wear, but so far so good.
