Reviews are true. TINY. This size 36 belt was more than a size smaller than the advertised size. I normally wear a 34 waist and it was smaller than another belt I bought that was listed as a 34 and the other belt was smaller than many other 34's in my closet. So, to recap. This size 36 belt was smaller than the smallest size 34 belt I've ever bought. The belt is also not made entirely of leather. It has a webbing behind an embroidered leather strap. This webbing is made of cotton and is not a particularly strong or tight webbing. I suspect that this belt will not hold its shape well. The embroidery and embossing on the waistband are attractive. and the belt is light if you like it. However, I might suggest not buying ONE. but TWO sizes larger than what you usually buy. It's coming back for me and I don't plan on getting a big replacement. I would suggest getting West Marine's ALL leather strap for another $5. or their leather belt version for $6 LESS. This belt is not worth guessing how much more to buy to make sure what you get will fit. It's also nowhere near the quality of a belt you can buy at West Marine for a few bucks, all leather. or even less for the leather on the straps.
