This is a quality 12V DC plug and socket set. They are firmly attached to each other, but can be easily detached. The positive and negative wires are colored red and black. I have two options for using these pigtails: 1) I have a portable solar panel with a 5.5mm x 2.1mm connector that is used to charge the battery. I can use one of these woman braids to create a connection. My solar panel produces a maximum of 60 watts, so it works according to the specifications of these pigtails. 2) I have a label printer that runs on 9V DC. I used 6 AA batteries but they get expensive. It has a 9V DC output that accepts a 5.5mm x 2.1mm plug. The weird thing about this printer is that it uses a negative center connection. Most power supplies have a positive center. I'm going to use one of these male braids to build the middle negative connection. This is easy to do by simply swapping the color coded pigtail wires. If you need this kind of pigtail connectors, this is a good choice. I recommend them.
