I bought this to keep my RV battery charged when we're not using it. When I received it the instructions said it was not for external use which other reviewers did not say. One reviewer claims he uses it on his boat and it's out 24/7 whatever the summer weather. So I was disappointed at first, but I decided to mask off the outer edge of the glass panel to keep water out. I use silicone sealant and it's been working really well since I bought it about a month ago. It keeps my 24v RV battery charged to the max without the need for a regulator. I assume this will continue for quite a while. I doubt the diligence in instructions for internal use only, but maybe they're just CYA! I would buy this again.
