My 2 1/2 year old grandson loves building with these bricks. There are enough shapes to encourage creative building. An added bonus is the fact that if your little one is forced to throw the dice, they are soft enough not to hurt an unsuspecting victim (my 14 month old grandson). We also use these building blocks to develop shape naming and color recognition, as well as developing literacy skills. They are thick blocks of foam and my 14 month old nibbled on them. There are tooth marks but no bitten off pieces. These are great blocks to use alone or add to other blocksets you already have. Good buy!
