This hammer won't go out of the house and my husband has already heard the warning: I'd rather not find it, the one around mine desk hanging around and getting dirty. Because I absolutely hate using dirty tools near pristine walls and furniture. So I'm very happy to have this extra hammer and it's the perfect size and weight for indoor work like hanging pictures or moving shelves. The 12-ounce hammer is the perfect weight for my hand - not too heavy to handle, but heavy enough to drive a nail into a bolt. And the handle is very well balanced and designed to provide a good, secure grip. I also like that the top of the hammer head is flat. I also ordered a nail starter. This is good for short nails and tight spaces. This little jig works well and is useful when working with tiny short shank nails or in tight spaces. So, yes, I can keep this in my picture box. And I can imagine that this little tool is a godsend for women with long, luxurious nails. Looking at this before ordering, I was wondering if an angled nail would work - something I often do for hanging slides. . It holds the nail at an angle and I was able to successfully drive the angled pin into a soft wall. I've been a fan of Fiskars for many, many years. And I'm glad they keep coming up with new ideas. (Similar to OXO products.) I feel like Fiskars is doing a good job and thinking about making life easier for everyone who uses their tools. I trust Fiskars products and this hammer confirms my confidence in their products.
