A few weeks ago I switched all my plates from the standard plates that stick to the edges to these and came home to my grandma who was broken on the floor with the sticky disc still on hung when dropped. I followed the application instructions meticulously, rinsed the panels with Dawn's solution, let them dry overnight, wet the panels thoroughly (in two stages to ensure all the glue was evenly wet), let the glue dry until it was was super sticky, press it very firmly into a plate and let it dry overnight. Maybe something wasn't perfect somewhere and I hang my plates by wires from a picture ledge, but don't worry about my other antique plates falling to the floor.
