They're cheap and you get what you pay for. Some in the set have a fairly strong magenta tint which may or may not make a huge difference depending on your needs and workflow. They're not particularly reflective if you know how to use the lighting, and the surfaces are smooth and even, with no ripples or imperfections. I wish they didn't have barcodes in the corner on one side as that makes them useless unless you want to remove them when posting. More variety would benefit this six-piece set, as some wooden pieces make each other superfluous. I like their stone and concrete textures more. Overall I think it's a good deal if you think you'll use at least half the backgrounds. You can easily pay $50-$100 for a quality vinyl backdrop of this size. So if you like textures and think you can make them work with their print quality flaws and thin and fragile nature, then go for it. They are excellent for food and food photography and can produce professional results if you have the patience and knowledge necessary and if you can get them to straighten out a bit from the extremely rolled state in which they are supplied. Just lay them with some weight between two flat surfaces for a few days and they become much more manageable. For such a low price I could give this set four stars despite the poor quality, but some of these backgrounds are just plain bad. Some of them are blurry, which might not be a problem or even useful if you're shooting straight down and want to simulate shallow depth of field, but I think that's a pretty strong mark against them. Three Stars: They're ok and some backgrounds look really great, but don't expect great quality at this price point.
