Quality control seems poor

I would have liked the product if I didn't have a patched area on the edge of the bark (see picture). I feel this should not have been considered a quality item and should have been thrown away or sold as seconds maybe seconds who knows. I'm just not happy with the patched area, it takes away from the natural element which is wood. From an artistic point of view - patchwood looks a little weird and very distracting to the eye when a person sees what's "wrong" with it.
