Sizing was slightly wrong even when ordered by foot size measured in inches and centimetres. We had to exchange the first pair for a smaller size that fit better. My LO immediately stuck to the shoe. He can easily make the Velcro himself and tighten it. The outsole is flexible and grippy so it doesn't feel like a cheap foam/synthetic outsole that slips and slides in the rain. We wore them on play dates and as casual shoes with khakis and a polo. This isn't the only pair of shoes in the rotation so can't comment on everyday durability but I love them and would recommend them.
