The masks are good. I wear one that bangs around my ears all day at work and it was pretty comfortable with the fan attached. This definitely prevents fogging of the mask, face and nose. However, with an outward-facing fan, there is no filtering. A fan hole is punched into the N95 filter, so nothing is actually filtered through the fan duct.
