Bought 3 of these to save energy when I'm on the go instead of leaving cables and TV on standby all the time. I currently have a smart plug and use Alexa for that, but have chosen not to rely on my internet connection to use my TV. The device looks good and has good build quality, so first impressions were really positive. This is an electronic device and not a mechanical switch as I originally thought. So it always uses some power even if you have everything turned off, but I find that negligible. The plug says it is rated for resistive loads up to 8A, 125V - 1000W. So that should be more than fine for most things around the house. The problem is that for some reason 2 of the 3 I got didn't work and to be honest I'm already expecting the last one to fail soon considering how bad the internal circuitry must be. I didn't even throw the box away. On defective units, when you press the button you can hear the relay but nothing happens (possibly bad solder on the AC wire?). In any case, look for another product. It's unreliable.
