I bought this to replace the original cabin air filter on a 2013 Nissan Altima, it is a direct replacement in size although I do find the frame edges to be a bit stronger. and "more resilient", ensuring that when the filter is inserted into the airflow slot, it will expand back to its original shape. My original only had 10,400 miles on the car but it was over a year old and I noticed that the smell started filling the interior of the car when the air conditioning was turned on. Maybe it's the humidity or the condenser coils, I find out one day I need to turn the air back on. Regardless, the original filter was more than just sloppily dirty, apparently doing its job as intended, filtering out dust and dirt. It's possible I could just blow it out with air from an air compressor, but after the trouble of getting it out from behind the car's glove box I decided to just put a new one in. It doesn't come with a spare tab that you could grab by the faucet and pull it out of the bracket if you have one. You can design one for it and install it yourself. The filter has an arrow showing airflow direction stamped into one edge of the frame so you can put it back in properly, but looking at the filter (OEM and this one) I have to say it doesn't matter, in which direction it is. It's just a fan-shaped filter anyway. The removal and installation instructions that come with the filter in the box are simple and may not exactly apply to your vehicle. To me, a review of the removal and installation tips and tricks would not be a filter review, but Nissan's poor design for something that could be end-user swapped out - Nissan makes it difficult, but not impossible. Once you understand how it's actually supposed to be done, you can complete the process in less than 20 minutes; my first attempt took just under an hour. The filter is of high quality in terms of material and workmanship, I will buy it again and recommend it.
