Review on πŸ”§ Universal Ceiling Fan Remote Control Kit, Small Size 3 in 1 Wireless Control for Harbor Breeze, Hunter, Hampton Bay, Lichler Ceiling Fans - Speed, Light & Timing Control by Mike Travers

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Bought to automate multiple ceiling fans with Bond and Home Assistant

I bought this to allow my Bond fan controller to control some of the extra ceiling fans in my house. I only needed the canopy module in the long run, the remote was only used once to set up with Bond. Compared to other fan remotes/modules in my house, this one has the fewest features and feels incredibly cheap. However, these were two things I was specifically looking for as I literally just need a functional canopy module for my Home Assistant setup to actually control how people interact with the fan. The canopy module is noticeably shorter than any other module I've seen, but it's thicker and can cause problems with some ceiling fans, so they advise you to measure to make sure it fits. The range of this module is noticeably lower compared to everything else in our house, which meant I had to either install it on the fan closest to Bond or have the antenna cable sticking out and being an eyesore. If you're just using the included remote control in the same room, I highly doubt this will be a problem for you. The remote control/canopy does not have DIP switches like many older canopy/remote combos and as I bought the same product from a different supplier I was concerned that they would interfere with each other. Luckily they appear to have been paired from the factory and there was no problem with one remote controlling a different fan. Finally, the flashlight module emits a loud beep when receiving a command. It can be turned off by holding the stop button for 6 seconds.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Good mostly, but...
