Review on Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED Zoom Lens with Vibration Reduction & Auto Focus for Nikon DSLR Cameras by Jaewon Hahm ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I like the product very much, fully consistent with my expectations.

I bought it a week ago for 12800. Very pleased with the quality (made in China)! Portraits in soft colors are not bad, of course, the same "fifty dollars" will draw everything more realistically and with high quality, but now it's not about him). As a macro lens not suitable. I managed to click the birds - like a telephoto camera for photography, it showed itself perfectly, but with one correction - autofocus does not have time for fast moving objects, so it smears a lot in this situation, for this you need to take an older brother Nikon 70-300mm f / 4.5- 5.6G ED-IF AF-S VR Zoom-Nikkor, it is more suitable for shooting sports and shooting where very fast autofocus is needed, but they practically do not differ in picture quality, we tested it yesterday with a friend on our D90s in the same conditions with the same settings , who is interested, I’ll post it on my page a little later. In general, I can safely recommend this lens to those who need an inexpensive, but high-quality telephoto lens for shooting animals, portraits, and indeed any events where a good zoom is required!

Pros
  • Excellent sharp glass, and even at 300mm you can achieve a very good result with your hands! A very reasonable price for such a quality of both assembly and the resulting photos with this lens! A focal length of 55mm is undoubtedly a plus, i. you can shoot in a small room.
Cons
  • For that kind of money, in principle, there are none, with the exception of the location of the focus fine-tuning ring and a non-standard hood.
