This pump is great is you only need a few hours. I bought two of these for my two fish tanks. Here in FL we get hurricanes and I wanted something to provide gas exchange if we lost power for a couple of days. I had the primary pump fail on my small aquarium so I had the opportunity to test out this pump. It ran for five to six hours before dying. I was expecting it to run for over 24 hours like I experienced with the old school D cell pumps. I checked and the battery capacity is only 2,200 mAh which is the capacity of two AA batteries. In comparison, a single D cell battery has a 13,000 mAh capacity and two C cell batteries give you 12,000 mHa. The form factor of this pump could easily support two C cell rechargeables. That would provide multiple days of use. I feel they went ultra cheap on the battery capacity and wasted money on the look which doesn't matter. I'd much rather have higher battery capacity than the fancy capacitive button.
