The quality is better than most.

I bought six or seven power supplies for my last two Acer laptops. My wife says I'm strict with them. It must be the brutal workplace they endure - my chair in the living room. If anything, it seems better made than most. It's slightly larger than the OEM model, but so far runs cooler than the original. The build feels more solid than others I've had and it has a blue running light. That's good if you're trying to figure out which connection is giving you trouble this time. This device is made in Taiwan, which might explain the higher quality. The price is a bit higher than the base model but I think it will hold up better. It's UL listed for what it's worth. A twelve foot cord is fine, but it's grounded, which can make a difference if you're plugging in an old building with two wired outlets. The computer-side cable is about five feet long and comes with the ubiquitous Velcro to hold a stretched cable in place. with more when I get a few hours on it.
