not installed) gave me little hope that it would work but the torque on the mount makes sure it does that it works well, especially when tilting , which required some modifications, the main reason for the modification being the screws of the "Quick Release" mount (the part that connects to the hand) and the large VESA plate. The screws are too deep and might bite into the back. I used the standoffs that came with it (be prepared to have LOTS of spare screws/parts) and pushed the mounting plate out 1/2" which gave those screws plenty of room (they just stick out 1-2 mm out). The signs said shoulder screws (long screws going into a stud) were stripped/rounded or broken. easy. I've never had a problem (maybe they used a small screwdriver, or didn't use power tools, or never pre-drilled). I used a drill bit and turned it with a suitably matching cross bit and a pre-drilled hole (sorry I forgot the size I used). No curves or even dents on the head, it is strong and does not crawl. Things that could be better: The quick release felt flimsy. It has 2 clips that snap through the grooves on the arm. If they don't fit properly, the TV will buckle and fall. A separate screw on top prevents this when fully installed, but is a bit annoying when installed. This could be another modification: make sure it's securely fastened with extra screws or metal bends in the right places. I'm sure if my cat jumps on the tv he'll break, although the breaking point is still under 80lbs. This connection between the TV mount and the arm is the weakest part, as the arm seemed to hold me at full stretch with a moderate weight (around 100 pounds) without flexing. This is by no means a critical error, I prefer everything very reliable. Other thoughts: It's amazing how much space this frees up from a desktop stand! I'm building a shelf to mount above my TV so I can reclaim that space :) Final thoughts: while the quick release seems a bit flimsy, for the price it's a great job! The 15 inch swing arm is enough to watch TV in another room.
