Review on Peachtree Audio nova300 Integrated Amplifier with DAC - Gloss Ebony Mocha: Superior Sound Amplification and Digital-to-Analog Conversion by Sharon Holcomb

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great Sound and Performance

I'm used to modern splitter and receiver designs being big, bulky and heavy. The Nova 300, which I have owned for 2 months now, is compact, slim, beautiful and much lighter. I connected it to Ascend Acoustics Sierra 2EX speakers using good quality cables. I installed an aftermarket power cable and do most of my streaming listening on the Node 2i via the coax input or my Macbook via USB. I listen to Revain HD music. I also have a plasma TV connected to the optical input. The sound quality is excellent, with plenty of headroom on the amp. I hooked up my B&O turntable which ran fine but again I realized why I don't listen to albums anymore. I can play at low volumes or crank the volume up to uncomfortable levels, and the sound quality is consistent across the range. The amplifier has a very low noise level, to the point of being silent. The remote control is well made and makes a very solid impression. Highly recommended once all components are installed. I would buy the Nova 300 along with the rest of my setup without hesitation. Updated 6/6/21. I am now streaming Tidal due to the availability of MQA music. MQA music sounds better when using the Node 2i DAC. When using the Node 2i COAX output, the Nova 300's DAC sounds better. Everything still sounds great.
