Review on πŸ”Š Yantouch EyE: Portable 3-in-1 Bluetooth Speaker with Smart Light & Enhanced Bass - Black by Douglas First

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Really clear and crisp sound. Pleasant light show

So yesterday I had free time at the company. I pulled out the Bluetooth speakers I had in line for testing and we played different genres of music on them one at a time. I didn't read anything about it before testing. I haven't read the instructions to see their intricacies and I haven't checked the prices. All we did was connect each speaker individually to my Kindle Fire HD and listen to a variety of music. There were some very good speakers in this group and I was happy to review them. Then we came to this Yantouch Eye and, oh my god, it easily blew every other speaker out of the water. Remember, I thought other speakers were good too, but the difference between this and that was immediately noticeable. I should also note that a higher price isn't always a guarantee of better quality speakers. I checked a few in this category that were off-brand. Before I read anything about dynamics, we tried different genres. Everything sounded good. Clear, crisp sound that felt right and almost full. So after going back and forth between the speakers and then playing with this one for a few hours, I found them here on Amazon. That's when I discovered that all the other speakers were discounted (less than thirty dollars) and this one was from the budget luxury line (one hundred dollars). Well that explains a lot and I have to use different criteria to check this than I do for budget speakers. Make no mistake, to the untrained ear, this speaker sounds really good. As already mentioned, the sound is crisp and clear with very good separation. Undoubtedly, this is a high-end speaker, but now I have to ask if it's worth the hundred-dollar price tag. If you had asked me five years ago, I would have definitely said yes. But we live in a new era of electronics and if I didn't get this for free from the company to review, I'm not sure I could justify a hundred bucks for what you're getting. It's head and shoulders above the budget category, but compared to other speakers in its category. I'm not sure. Four stars seems little for what you get and five stars seems too much. It's really not perfect. The bass is IS, but not as loud, but it was crisp and clear, as were the highs and mids. But like I said before I knew what the price was I played it for an hour or two just because I liked the sound it made. I fed him country, classical, heavy bass, music, high-heavy, rock, pop, Broadway. Everything I played sounded good and honestly I haven't listened to music that much in a long time. I just really enjoyed it. It was relaxing and made me wonder why I shouldn't just listen to music more often. This speaker comes with TWS (True Wireless Stereo) but to test this you need two of these speakers and I only have one. I've used TWS on other speakers before and it's a very cool concept that works well to give you stereo sound. However, be aware that if you're buying this for TWS features, it'll cost you two hundred dollars a pair. I imagine the sound will be pretty amazing, but since I can't test it I can't say for sure. The additional light function is very good and creates a nice atmosphere for music accompaniment. The main reason I didn't install the app is because I like testing things like this without an app and I find many apps annoying. This eye comes with a remote control which was useful for backlit gaming. I know there's a wake-up mode where this little pup mimics the sunlight to wake you up, but to be honest that wouldn't work for me. I wake up to find natural sunlight because I don't close curtains or blinds at night and even natural sun doesn't wake me. I have to be thrown out of bed with nasty alarm clocks. Speaking of which, I really need a new set and am forgetting the watch because mine is finally dead. If anyone knows a good set and forgot the radio/alarm please comment below :) CONCLUSION: I see that people with better knowledge of speaker design have looked into this and found it good, not great. Read their reviews if you want an informed professional opinion. I can only speak about dynamics from a consumer point of view. I like it very, very much. The sound is clear and smooth, and I can listen for hours without the ear fatigue that accompanies many of the speakers I've tested and analyzed. The backlight is a nice addition and the fact that you can pair it with another yantouch EyE for true stereo sound definitely makes this speaker worth a look. I would give 4.5 stars if I could

Pros
  • Natural sleep, natural awakening, bluetooth, remote control
Cons
