Update: dropped to 3 stars. After a few months of owning, the fan started making a buzzing sound. The company sent me a new one but the new one makes the same noise.Two biggest pluses for me: (1) it's quiet! It doesn't make a loud buzzing or humming sound like my old Lasko tower fan. The sound it does make is a just a pleasant white noise sound - the sound of the air moving - no humming, buzzing or squeaking. And (2) the LED lights are small, unobtrusive, and most importantly TURN OFF (no matter what mode it's on), after about 30 seconds. In other words, this is the perfect fan to sleep with as it's quiet, and there aren't bright lights on it to keep you awake. I've tried quite a few tower fans over the years, and this one is the best!
