We got this as composting medium for a composting toilet. It was our first time using it, so there was some learning curve. One of the videos I'd watched instructed to "add 1 cup of water," so that was precisely what I did, and I found that the parts which were well moistened were very easy to break up. I crumbled the rest as best I could, then left them in the bag with the remainder, to allow the moisture to equalize, after which the clumps broke up easily. After the toilet was installed, I read in the Nature's Head manual that you should add 5 cups of water, which will certainly make it extremely easy to work with in future FWIW, we found the 2 ½ gallon Hefty Slider Bags worked extremely well as a container, and a single individual could easily work with the coir with their hands in the bag.If my review was helpful, please click the button below.
