Review on Ideal Pet Products Original Plastic by Julie Terrones

I bought this door to mount in the wall of my Four Seasons sunroom which has 2-7/8 styrofoam walls. This door is designed to fit doors up to 2 inches thick. Other models of this door are designed to fit house walls that are much thicker and can be quite thick (with walls built with 2X6 studs). My walls are 7/8 thick. It was easy to install, but I had to use longer screws than the ones provided to work with the 2+ inch thick walls this door was designed for. I also had to use aluminum tape for caulking. The gap created with this door is thicker than intended for the surrounding area. It works very well. I have never contacted Ideal Pet Products to see if there was a model that would fit my wall thickness. My situation is not your fault, the door. That's great. We've had some very heavy showers lately and no water came from either my rebuild or the damper blocking the passage. The HARD part was getting my two dogs to trust the door and use it. It took me almost a week before they remembered to use it to get in and out with them. the weight. The guide that came with the door has some dog training tips and I followed them. Every dog is different but mine took a week. Also one before the other.
